Old Seoul, Knew City

Photography and text by Hon Hoang

I found myself in good fortune as I attended a photo meetup hosted by National Geographic. During this time, I met some great photographers and gained insightful knowledge about photography. The purpose of the meet up was to capture the dichotomy of Seoul. How centuries old palaces and are surrounded by looming modern towers. This city, it exists in two parts: the old and the new.

To capture the dichotomy of the city was our assignment, but what is a city without it’s people. The population that inhabits it and calls it home. The people that have lived and thrived in a place that has seen such rapid modernization. Such change and transmutation in a home, in the people.
